September Newsletter

Welcome to our September newsletter!

First things first, we’d like to wish everyone who took part in this year’s Great North Run a hearty congratulations from us all here at the clinic! We know a number of our patients ran the race – well done to you all.

Summer seems to have disappeared in a flash and there’s a definite autumnal feel in the air. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy some fresh air, the colourful scenes and of course some exercise.

Whatever you're up to, make sure you look after your feet. Now you’re wearing more enclosed footwear, it’s important to keep an eye on them and of course stay warm as the weather cools. Read our tips below.

If you’d like to have a consultation to check them over more thoroughly just give us a call on 0191 2618375 to make an appointment.

We’ve started to give our patients birthday treats so keep an eye out in your email inbox for yours when the time is right.

And please don’t forget that we no longer run the home visiting service but our clinic at the Regent Centre is fully accessible. Our number for the Regent Centre is 0191 228 6021.

All the best from,

News from the clinic

We truly believe in being the best we can and are always investing in the professional training of all the staff here in the clinic to ensure you receive the best possible service at all times. The latest training involves the team travelling to Liverpool to undergo training for our new Optigate treatment with the industry expert Federico Gori.

Meanwhile, Holly is starting her Masters in the Theory of Podiatry Surgery. It’s a part-time course with Huddersfiled University – please do join us in wishing her the very best of luck.

And Scott is now entering his final year at University – he’s done very well so far and we know he’ll continue to excel.

To make an appointment with any of our podiatrists just give us a call on 0191 2618375.

What's under your socks?

So it’s time to dig out the shoes, boots and socks now the colder and wetter weather is here. We see so often, however, that when our feet aren't on show it’s often a case of out of sight out of mind and we forget to take care of them. Through lack of attention our feet can become out of condition.

Here are some tips to keep your feet looking and feeling good as we enter autumn and winter.

Wear shoes that fit. It sounds obvious but happens more often than you’d think. Try shoes on before you buy them and if there's a shoe fitting service make use of it. It’s always best to shop for footwear in the afternoon when your feet are at their biggest.

Check your feet. Look at them regularly to see if you can notice any changes or issues. If you experience pain or spot anything unusual don’t hesitate to contact us for advice.

Keep them clean. Washing your feet in warm soapy water will keep them smelling sweet rather than sweaty. And remember to dry them thoroughly, particularly between the toes, afterwards.

Use a foot cream. Skin on your feet can become dry for many reasons, and using a good quality foot cream can make all the difference.

What we love this month....
Hands up if this has started in your household already!

And our clients say!
Our main goal is to make your feet happy and providing you with the best quality service possible. We love this testimonial.

“I have suffered on and off with Plantar Faucitis for around eight years so I signed up for the five week course. At the end of the treatment the PF was pretty much gone! I then managed to do the Sunderland half marathon pain free and in not too bad a time. Longer-term, because I work on my feet a lot and on a concrete floor, I had custom-made insoles to help take the stress of my feet and support them day to day.

Newcastle Foot Clinic is clean, friendly and professional; the equipment is state of the art and the care is exceptional." - Frank Flynn
